Warrant Officer Kevin John DENNIS (Aus.437121), R.A.A.F., 462 (R.A.A.F.) Sqn.
One night in March, 1945, this officer was wireless operator in an ‘aircraft detailed to attack Frankfurt. Shortly after leaving the target the aircraft was hit and severely damaged by antiaircraft fixe. One member of the crew was killed and Warrant Officer Dennis was badly wounded. The latter was hit in both legs and most of the foot of one of them was severed. Despite his wounds and the loss of much iblood, Warrant Officer Dennis continued with his duties until the aircraft had landed. Although suffering great physical distress, this officer displayed courage, determination and devotion to duty of the highest order.
